Step into the electric downtown New York art scene of the late ’70s and ’80s with Basquiat (1996), a visually bold biographical drama directed by artist Julian Schnabel. The film follows Jean-Michel Basquiat (Jeffrey Wright) from his early days as a graffiti artist to meteoric success in the gallery world—alongside friendships, fame, and the pressures that shadow his rise, including a close bond with Andy Warhol (David Bowie).
